Looking for a Concert? Search for it by city, exact km distance, artist, date, or venue. Can’t make it? Watch live updates through YouTube and Twitter in real time.
Everything you need to know about who is playing where and when in Canada. We gave the MuchMusic Concerts site a design makeover and added in functionality that allows users to search for concerts by city, exact km distance, artist, date, or venue.
The new Concerts page allows users to search for any upcoming concerts by typing the artist’s name into the search box, and sorting results by major city, km distance, all of Canada. From their search results list they can choose to learn more details about each upcoming event.
As part of the social participation feature, users wishing to view a snapshot of a concert they missed can click on the artist’s name and go to the Recent Concert Details page. This page will display the concert date and location, as well as the number of related Tweets and YouTube videos posted.
To view Twitter updates, users can click the number of Tweets and see a feed of all Twitter activity related to their concert. In order to capture the energy of each concert, users wishing to watch live performances may view concert videos that have been posted on YouTube. If you users would like to view the video content, they can click on the number of videos and will be shown a full list of all videos uploaded to YouTube for that specific concert. From there, they may select a video from the list of thumbnails.
The goal of this project was to make the concert search process as simple and interactive as possible and to allow users to engage with content that their peers and music community are constantly creating.
After the success of Much Concerts, we’ve gone on to build the corresponding iPhone app.
